Việt Nam sends congratulatory messages to 47th President of the United States

HÀ NỘI — As Donald Trump officially assumed the position of the 47th President of the United States on January 21 (Hà Nội time), General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee Tô Lâm, State President Lương Cường, and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính have sent letters of congratulations.

The three leaders underscored that Việt Nam considers the US a partner of strategic importance.

Building on the progress in bilateral cooperation in recent times, General Secretary Tô Lâm, President Lương Cường, and PM Phạm Minh Chính expressed confidence that under Donald Trump’s leadership and support, Việt Nam - US relations will continue to grow robustly based on principles of mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, and political systems, for the sake of peace, stability, sustainable cooperation, and development in the region and the world, especially as the two counties are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1995-2025) and two years of the Việt Nam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025.

On the same day, Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân has also sent a congratulatory letter to Vice President James David Vance. — VNS
